The Nevada Rail Coalition is a citizen-based initiative that brings together organizations, groups and individuals, including unions, environmental organizations, passenger and freight rail advocacy associations, social justice organizations, and neighborhood and community associations for the purpose of building an expanded and more robust rail system – freight and passenger – in the Silver State. In the face of crowded/crumbling/unsafe highways and city streets, poor air quality/climate crisis/environmental degradation, and a lack of transportation options, we see rail expansion and development as fundamental to a safe and modern, environmentally sound and socially just transportation system to serve all Nevadans for the 21st century. We are using the 2021 Nevada Rail Plan as our guiding vision for rail in Nevada.”
